Homemade Exoskeleton

Homemade Exoskeleton

As you can see we enjoy building custom things for customers such as a homemade exoskeleton. We built this one from a climbing harness together with a dual heavy duty computer monitor support bracket and black straps with leather covered cushions for under the elbows. You can set the resistance by a couple of screws and it really does work. We worked closely with the DMZ Group where they had a division called the DMZ custom department which helped design this homemade exoskeleton. We inserted the monitor bracket into the harness and secured with straps, Then bolted some homemade cushion pads to the monitor brackets and used some small ratchet type straps to secure each arm to the Exoskeleton. As you can see it supported the weight of our arms including a drill so as to ease the weight upon shoulders for long periods of time. We managed to build this for under £200. An equivalent shoulder exoskeleton by a manufacturer will set you back at least £10,000. How on earth can they justify that, Granted they use gas struts and electric actuators which we did think about building with a 12v battery but that would raise the cost slightly, require computer coding and electrical power and much more time to build. We can do it, But we were aiming for the most simple build possible. So if you have a custom item idea you want us to build for you then contact us and we will make your dream a reality.
